cityoperaThe city has planned quite a lot of events surrounding the upcoming Fashion’s Night Out - a global retail initiative to promote retail and restore consumer confidence. This event is not just for big retailers and new designers though. The vintage community is taking part as well! The City Opera Thrift Shop is celebrating its fall preview by partnering with Fashion’s Night Out. On September 10th, 2009. Be among the first to see the best fall has to offer with new collections of clothing, accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, furniture, artwork and books.

This will be no ordinary shopping event. As a special treat, guess will experience the thrill of opera while shopping via a special performance by City Operas own mezzo-soprano, Heather Johnson, singing a selection of arias from some of the worlds most beloved operas. In addition, guests can enter to win tickets to New York City Opera performance with no purchase required.

On hand throughout the night to assist shoppers with styling their fall wardrobe will be Lori Sutherland, aka Dame Lori, a fashion soul stylist and thrift shop consultant.
